hey it’s Matt

I am a photographer & multidisciplinary artist based in Portland, Oregon. My work is rooted in travel & street photography, but I quickly became fascinated with the raw emotional art opportunities surrounding couples in love (and their families!). Proposal & honeymoon bookended some of the best moments of my life (love you, Kelc!), and I relive those moments again & again through the photos. Images are the keys that unlock important memories that too often get hazy with the intensities of life, time, & change. But nevertheless the important moments have stuck with me—cued by these images that ignite a warm buzz of nostalgic contentment and cozy thoughts each and every time I flip through them. It is my intention to craft a cue to a neurological web that prompts endless engagement with the open-ended triangulation of you, fantasy and memory. I have witnessed that love can be photographed, and it's become my goal to prove this to the world, starting with you.
My style is one of continual refinement, fueled by a genuine interest in the process of how to create interesting art. With literally hundreds of sessions in the books, expect a chill but attentive vibe— always lining up that timeless shot but also catching the “second story,” and leaving space for the little things that make each gallery unique as the people in them. Not just a contrived photoshoot, but full participation in the moment with your beloved in nature.
